Noontime fire hits residential area in Boracay

A noontime fire destroyed some 35 residential houses and three commercial buildings at Sitio Bantud in Barangay Manocmanoc in Boraca y today.

The fire started at about 12:30 in the afternoon and lasted for about an hour.

The fire affected a total of 28 families or 213 individuals, initial data from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Malay showed.

Fire victims are now housed at Manocmanoc Gym while others are staying with relatives.

Two individuals suffered minor injuries during the incident.

The cause of the flame is still under investigation.
