BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan, May 10 — At least 47 delegates composed of ambassadors and consuls from different countries assigned in South Korea will visit this resort island for a four-day excursion.
The members of the Korean diplomatic community will be in this resort island from May 11 to 14.
The diplomats are expected to bring their families during their vacation in Boracay, according to Kristoffer Leo Velete, officer-in-charge of the Department of Tourism-Boracay.
Vellete said the group would be treated with island hopping tours, water sports activities and other relaxation packages during their stay.
Though Koreans already dominate the list of foreign visitors of the island, the visit will help gain more tourists to the island, Vellete said.
“It will again promote Boracay as a prime destination and prove that we can compete with other destinations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Senior Inspector Jose Mark Anthony Gesulga, deputy chief of Boracay Tourist Assistance Center said security preparations were all set for the arrival of the international visitors.
Different government security and emergency agencies are already alerted to ensure safety and security of the delegates, said Gesulga. (Karen V. Bermejo/PNA)
