Malay Aklan – “We recommend the tourists to halt their Boracay vacation.”
This is what the Malay Covid 19 Task Force said to those people who are planning to go to Boracay starting today after the Executive order was released by the Malay Acting Mayor Fromy Bautista.
“ACTING MAYOR FROLIBAR S. BAUTISTA SIGNED EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 013 WHICH STRICTLY IMPLEMENTING THE MANDATORY 14-DAY QUARANTINE TO ALL PERSONS ENTERING THE MUNICIPALITY WHO ARE FROM METRO MANILA AND OTHER AREAS AFFECTED BY THE COVID-19”.
According to Madel Joy Tayco, the spokesperson of the Task Force, if there are only a small number of tourists coming from Metro Manila, Pampanga, Bulacan, Batangas, Negros Oriental and Cagayan de Oro, then they may have to allow them to visit the Island.
But a mandatory 14-day quarantine is to be conducted inside the rooms of their hotel, which they will pay for, and they are not allowed to leave the premises in the duration of the quarantine.
This will also be the case for all the foreign tourists visiting the island, whose countries has cases of COVID-19.
And if they are not willing to go through the mandatory quarantine, then it is best to cancel their plans going to Boracay.
Meanwhile, for the tourists coming from the places with no case of COVID-19 if the Provincial Government issued a total Community lockdown or Provincial Quarantine they can no longer enter the island.
Only the Aklanons or locals of Aklan are allowed to enter the island. But given the conditions that they are not from places that has cases of COVID-19.
On the other hand, if the Malaynon/Aklanon will return from provinces that have cases of COVID-19, then they will have to undergo a mandatory 14 day home quarantine.
As of the time this is written, Boracay is COVID-19 FREE.
