Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores is creating a plan on how to immediately resume the tourism industry in Boracay Island after the community quarantine has ended.
This is the biggest challenge the province is currently facing.
The Governor wants to assure the tourists that it is safe to go to the island of Boracay because there is no registered confirmed case of COVID-19.
One of the preparations they want to establish is placing a laboratory where all tourists will undergo a test using Real-time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). This machine can immediately know if a tourist is infected with Coronavirus before they can enter the island.
Once the tourism in Boracay resumes many Aklanons (locals) will be able to go back and can start to earn a living. Same with the collection of local revenue to be used for the delivery of Social Services to the Aklanons.
As of this writing, there is no confirmed case of COVID-19 in the island of Boracay.
