KALIBO, Aklan — At least 16 members of a Filipino family were rushed to two medical clinics in Boracay Island Tuesday morning, July 23, for food poisoning.
Rod Bachiller of the Boracay Fire and Rescue Volunteers Incorporated (BFRAV) said the victims were reportedly not feeling well in an undisclosed resort. BFRAV immediately responded and brought the victims to the Alert Medical Clinic and the Metropolitan Doctors and Clinic Laboratory here.
Some of the victims were minors as young as three years old.
“We asked them where they had eaten and what food they ate. They refused to answer the question as they were in a hurry returning back to Manila. The medical clinics just provided them with first aid,” Bachiller said.
They also refused to seek assistance from the Philippine National Police in Boracay as this may delay them in their return to Manila.
Bachiller said the unidentified family told him that they will bring the victims in Metro Manila for medical treatment.
