This resort island has been named once again as the best island in the world in the 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards of international magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
Boracay retained its top spot, followed by Cebu and Palawan, respectively.
The international magazine described Boracay “as close to a tropical idyll as you’ll find in Southeast Asia, with gentle coastlines and transporting sunsets.”
“Fold in a thriving nightlife scene, and you have one of the top tourist spots in the region,” Conde Nast added.
The magazine meanwhile attributed the White Beach “with powdery white sand and shallow azure water ideal for swimming and snorkeling” as Boracay’s main draw to attract tourists making it as one of the country’s top tourist destination.
More than 300,000 travelers took part in the magazine’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Award.
Also included the Top 10 list are Mallorca, Spain; Mykonos, Greece; Bermuda, a British island territory; St. Barts; Turks and Caicos; Bali, Indonesia; and Cayman Islands.
In 2016, Boracay received 1.7 million tourists.
This year, the island is targeting to reach 2 million tourist arrivals.
