The initial master tourism plan for Boracay and Malay of Palafox Associates has received mixed reactions from stakeholders during its first public consultation Thursday morning.
The firm presented a plan that includes wider roads, bike lanes, monorail transport system and a 50 meters beach easement, among others.
Some business owners were impressed with the plan but said it would not be applicable anymore for Boracay.
Karmi Palafox, Palafox consultant however clarified that the plan presented is not final yet and recommendations and inputs from stakeholders will be considered.
The final master plan is expected to be completed before the year ends.
The master plan will serve as a basis for tourism development in Boracay and Malay in the next 25 years.
The Local Government Unit of Malay likewise clarified that they have started coordinating with the Palafox Associates even before President Rodrigo Duterte ordered to address issues in Boracay. (Boracay Informer)
