BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan — Twenty young leaders from across the Visayas region were selected to join the 10-day leadership training activity in this resort island starting this Saturday.
The activity is part of the Youth Instructor’s Training Course of the Red Cross Youth of the Philippine Red Cross.
Among the participants, three will come from Negros Island, two from Bohol and one each from Cebu, and Passi City.
Majority of the participants will meanwhile come from Boracay and Malay chapter of the RCY.
The activity aims to train volunteer youth leaders to facilitate leadership development program courses by building their knowledge, skills, attitude, and appreciation towards teaching and collaborative learning.
The training likewise aims to create an active pool of RCY volunteer instructors from the region.
The highlight of the training is a field practicum wherein participants will serve as trainers to other youth.
Trainers from PRC Manila and Davao will meanwhile serve as instructors during the activity.
RCY is one of the six major services of the PRC that educates and empowers the children and the youth aged seven to 25, through constructive trainings and effective leadership programs.
