KALIBO, AKLAN. Included in today’s 55th Regular Session’s Order of Business of the 17th Sangguniang Panlalawigan is the proposed resolution sponsored by SP Member Esel L. Flores commending newly crowned Miss Teen International 2017 and Miss Teen Charming International 2017 Kathleen Sinag Paton for bringing exceptional honor and pride to Aklanons by bagging the prestigious international titles considered the first ever in the participation of Aklanon beauties to national and international beauty and talent pageants.

Ms. Paton arrived in Kalibo Friday from her father’s home country, Australia, via Manila, into the welcoming hands of the employees of the provincial government of Aklan after her successful participation to the Miss Teen International Pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand on September 18-24, 2017.

From the Kalibo International Airport, she went straight to the Provincial Capitol to pay a courtesy call to Aklan Vice Governor Reynaldo “Boy” M. Quimpo and interacted with the Aklan media in a press conference at the east-west function rooms of the Aklan SP new legislative building.

Ms. Paton was accompanied by her mother, Luz Sinag Paton, a native of barangay Laserna, Nabas, Aklan. From the Provincial Capitol last Friday, mother Luz and beauty titlist Kathleen went straight home to barangay Laserna, Nabas.

Kathleen bested teen beauties from Brazil and the United States of America, who emerged first and second runner-ups, respectively, to bag the title. The pageant was participated by fifteen beauties of different nationalities.
Aside from winning the major international title of Miss Teen International, earlier, Kathleen won the Miss Teen Charming International and the Overall Sports Challenge to emerged above all her competitors.

In commending Ms. Paton, the Aklan SP noted the deep affection and affiliation of the teen beauty to her family roots in Nabas, Aklan and was very profuse in expressing her thanks and gratitude to the support of her townmates.
In a press conference where she displayed her facility in communications, Ms. Paton said she might participate in the future pageants that will lead to the selection of titlists to the Miss World or Miss Universe pageants.

Kathleen is the youngest of the four siblings of spouses Luz Sinag of Laserna, Nabas, Aklan and Roy Paton, an Australian national. She was born in Boracay Island and studied until grade four at the Laserna Elementary School, Nabas until the family moved to Australia. She finished her secondary education at the Canberra High School and she is now on her first year in Bachelor in Business at the Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia.

Kathleen is scheduled to be honored today in simple ceremonies in her hometown in Nabas, Aklan and in Malay, Aklan tomorrow. She will return to the Aklan SP session hall on Wednesday to receive the resolution of commendation.
