The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay has ordered the revocation of business permit issued to one of the water service provider on the island.
On a letter dated October 12, 2018 signed by Malay Mayor Ceciron Cawaling, the executive department has revoked the permit issued to Boracay Island Water Company (BIWC).
The revocation of BIWC’s business permit was due to its failure to secure an Environmental Sanitation Clearance from the Department of Health.
However, in a statement, BIWC said that there business permit issued has been issued by the LGU with the Oath of Undertaking to comply with the ESC on or before Dec 3, 2018.
BIWC likewise assured their consumers that efforts are being made to secure the ESC before the island’s reopening on October 26.
“We at Boracay Water are committed to provide water and wastewater services to our customers as we near the opening of the island,” BIWC stated in a statement.
