A total of 1,323 recipients have received livelihood grant from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on May 31, Thursday.
The DSWD has disbursed a total of P19.8 million which is part of its Sustainable Livelihood Program for residents and workers affected by the Boracay closure.
Each recipient received P15,000 each.
The recipients were the first batch to receive the livelihood grant from DSWD.
Among the recipients were the 429 residents from barangay Balabag, 169 from Manocmanoc and 115 from Yapak.
Six hundred ten members of different associations of massage therapists, vendors, tour guides, and boat men were also among the recipients of the livelihood grant released on Thursday.
The DSWD is targeting to release livelihood assistance to at least 11,000 household by June 30.
The agency has allocated P250 for its SLP program in Boracay.
