The Department of Labor and Employment 6 (DOLE) has warned against ineligible workers who have availed of the Boracay Emergency Program Adjustment Measures Program (BEEP AMP).
On its latest advisory dated September 21, 2018, DOLE 6 said they are investigating reports that there are employees fraudulently issuing Certificate of Employment to persons who are not their employees and ineligible to avail of the program.
The agency also received reports that there are persons posing as employers or issuing documents such as Certificate of Employment, IDs and other related documents in exchange for commission.
“This office is already investigating the matter and will not hesitate to take legal actions to apprehend the perpetrators,” as stated on the advisory signed by DOLE 6 Regional Director Cyril Ticao.
DOLE has also discovered that there are employees who are availing the program despite their ineligibility, as BEEP-AMP covers only the formal sector workers.
DOLE also said they will strictly evaluate new applications that are not in profiled formal sector database.
These applications will not be processed for payroll unless eligibility has been fully determined and established, the advisory stated.
“We are only ensuring that government funds allotted for this program are only given to legitimate beneficiaries,” DOLE added.
