BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan — Aklan province is among this year’s finalists in the business group annual search for the most business-friendly local government unit (LGU) in the country.
Aklan was chosen as a finalist in the provincial category of the national search by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
A letter from PCCI dated September 22 addressed to Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores informed that the province is among the finalists in the national search.
The letter was posted on the provincial government’s Facebook page on Wednesday.
Governor Miraflores will present to members of the PCCI the different accomplishments and initiatives particularly the ease of doing business in the province on October 11.
The presentation will focus on the five award criteria including Trade Investments & Tourism Promotions; Public-Private Sector Partnership; Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development; Quality Management Systems Innovations & Human Resources Development and Local Government Collaborations.
The winners will be recognized during the 43rd Philippine Business Conference of PCCI also in October.
This year’s event reflects on the slogan “What’s Good for the Country is Good for Business.”
Aside from the provincial winners, the same award will be given to selected cities and municipalities.
President Rodrigo R. Duterte is expected to grace the event. (PNA)
